The short version. DesignDoct is a design aid. Every result must be checked and signed off by a qualified structural engineer before it is used on a real structure. You keep ownership of what you upload; we use it only to produce your result.
1. What DesignDoct is
DesignDoct provides web-based tools for the design and condition assessment of steel structures, implementing procedures from Indian Standards including IS 800:2007, IS 1893:2016, IS 18168:2023, IS 875 and IS 808:2021.
2. Engineering responsibility
This is the most important clause on this page.
- Outputs are design aids, not certified designs, and not a substitute for professional engineering judgement.
- You are responsible for checking every input, every assumption and every result before use.
- A qualified structural engineer must review and approve any output before it informs the design, assessment, repair or construction of a real structure.
- Code interpretation can be a matter of engineering judgement. Where our implementation of a clause differs from yours, your judgement and the published standard govern.
We publish the governing clause alongside each check precisely so that you can verify it.
3. Accuracy
We take considerable care to implement the standards correctly and to cite clauses, but we do not warrant that results are free of error. If you find a discrepancy against a published standard, please report it to infradoct@gmail.com — we fix these promptly and treat them as serious.
AI-assisted features, including drawing layout extraction and photographic defect detection, are probabilistic. They can miss defects and can report ones that are not there. They support an inspection; they do not replace a physical one by a competent inspector.
4. Your content
You keep all rights in the drawings, photographs, models and data you upload. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process that material in order to produce your result, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your uploads to train AI models, and we do not use them for any purpose other than serving you.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload — including any client drawings covered by confidentiality obligations.
5. Accounts and acceptable use
- Accounts are personal. Do not share credentials.
- Registrations are approved manually; we may decline or withdraw access.
- Daily usage limits apply per account and per IP address. Do not attempt to circumvent them.
- Do not upload malware, unlawful content, or material you have no right to share.
- Do not attempt to access another user's projects, or to probe or disrupt the service.
6. Availability
DesignDoct is provided on an "as available" basis. It is under active development, features may change, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Do not rely on it as the sole store of any project record — keep your own copy of anything you need.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, DesignDoct and its authors are not liable for loss arising from use of the service or reliance on its output. Responsibility for the design and safety of a structure rests with the engineer of record. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above will change and material changes will be notified by email to registered users. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
